Artist manager
The artist manager's job is to promote the artists' careers and run their business affairs. They will book venues for the artist to perform at for the best profit fee and negotiate contracts and fees with people such as venue managers, helping them on career decisions such as which record producer to work with, or which songs to perform, and managing media relations on their behalf. They are also in charge of promotion, so communicating with people/organisations such as radio stations, television and talk shows and venue managers.
Tour manager
A tour manager keeps the whole tour together and has a lot of planning to do before hand. They will be in charge of booking events for the tour and hotels for the team and artists to stay, money expenses for petrol and food ect. as well as other details such as will the artist/s need multiple hotel rooms and how they are going to get from the hotel to the venue and back. Time scheduling is a big part of a tour manager's job. They will have to communicate with lots of venue managers (as well as the Artist manager before hand to see what venues have been booked) to sort out what time the artists is going on and how much earlier they will have to arrive for soundcheck.
