Planning our O2 gigs

Today we started brainstorming ideas and plans for our end of year O2 gig in Oxford. Between our year group we need to come up with the cost of renting out the venue for two nights, which is £1,000. There is roughly eleven bands in our year altogether so each band would need to raise just under £100 each.
We thought about what we would need to do in advance to plan for our gig, for example which people we will need there and how we could advertise the gig to make sure people hear about it months in advance. It was suggested to us that we start creating a website or Facebook page for our gig now and add the details on there once we know them, like festivals do, so that we have more time to reach out to more people.
